Grant Application Cost Estimates |
|
Our uncertain budget situation poses a dilemma for Principal Investigators; they must submit grant application budgets before they know the exact amount that our graduate student fee/tuition will be increased. In order to avoid a situation in which applications from the campus to sponsoring agencies vary widely in their fee estimates, we are adopting a campus policy regarding graduate student fee/tuition estimates over the next three years. We are asking PIs to estimate fee and or tuition costs in AY 2004-2005 as 20% higher than current costs, and an additional 10% higher in each of the two subsequent years. Please note that the above “fee accelerator” is merely an estimate; it does not reflect any inside knowledge about what actual fee structure will eventually be established! Robert Price |
